Product Description

Affirmed Networks develops virtualized mobile core solutions. Its Evolved Packet Core (EPC) solution features virtualized instances of
3GPP-compliant Serving GRPS Support Node (SGSN) and Mobile Entity Management (MME) functions to support large-scale network services for 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE, and VoLTE. It provides 3GPP-compliant Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN), Serving Gateway (SGW), and PDN Gateway (PGW) functions. It also provides Policy Control (PCRF), Online Charging System (OCS), and Policy Control Enforcement Function (PCEF) that feature dynamic policy enforcement, and real-time charging. It also embeds native passive monitoring which is the focus of this profile branded as ActiveFlow Analytics (AAFA).

Backed by venture capital investors Charles River Ventures, Matrix Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, KCK Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and strategic investors T-Venture and Vodafone Ventures, Affirmed Networks is delivering a subscriber management and service solution that bundles gateway functionality with application and content delivery services into a virtualized solution.
Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco, Netscout, EXFO, Viavi Solutions

Affirmed Networks is a supplier of virtual EPC solutions. It includes native probing in its solution branded as Affirmed Active Intelligent vProbe. This provides a lower cost solution to traditional dedicated physical or virtual appliance based solutions. Affirmed Network’s virtual probe is co-located with Affirmed vEPC mobile content cloud. It provides both control and data plane traffic collection and processing in each functional area.
1) vControl Flow – Collection of all control plane traffic.
2) vData Flow – User defined filtering of data plane traffic for port mirroring.
3) Intelligent Event Data Records – Complete granular data capture of session, bearer, flow, and transaction details in the data plane. The iEDRs provide a complete view of all traffic and a basis for determining filters for vData Flow.
