This report is part 2 of a series that looks at the evolution of Network Cloud Orchestration, by which we mean NFV-hybrid orchestration at all layers, supporting all core processes – including healing, scaling and capacity optimization. We focus on achieving automation and cloud-native operations.
We are specifically communicating what the major areas of importance *and* progress have been over the past 18 months. In “sound bites” we believe these four areas to be 1) Active Inventory and Live Topology, 2) Comprehensive VNF/service on-boarding and best practices, 3) Model and Policy Driven E2E Orchestration, and 4) Evolved Virtual Service Assurance.
Part #1 outlined the overall changes it the market. This report, Part 2, summarizes industry progress and most centrally – provides “summary profiles” on 20 of the leading suppliers in the industry, showing where they contribute and how. They provide an easy-to-consume guide to not only what each supplier is doing, but the diversity of approaches in the industry.
