Blue Planet, the software division of Ciena, has rebuilt its service assurance portfolio into a cloud-native microservices platform – one that is now operating regularly above half a million network nodes. Anchored by Unified Assurance and Analytics (UAA) and working alongside Route Optimization and Analysis, Blue Planet Inventory and Multi-Domain Service Orchestration, the platform unifies fault, performance, service-quality and SLA management on a real-time data fabric and a dynamic knowledge graph.

Open ingestion and sharing via Kafka, TM Forum Open APIs, REST and IETF YANG Push answer operator demand to liberate data from single system siloes.

Its Agentic AI architecture, built on LangGraph, LangFlow, MCP and A2A, was demonstrated with AWS at MWC 2026 and Blue Planet has figured out a model for monetizing its agentic offering. With Tier-1 references at Swisscom, Orange Business, Lumen and Telefonica Germany, plus a significant North American MSO, Blue Planet is well-positioned as a credible intelligence and validation layer for CSPs with autonomous network operations ambitions.
