Exciting news as Cisco announce their intention to acquire Sedona Systems. We’ve recently spent a lot of time with the Sedona management team looking at the benefits of Sedona’s optimized management of the multi-X IP and optical transport network. Sedona will bring important capability to Cisco in enabling network simplicity and automation.
Sedona NetFusion can automate the management of IP/Optical transport networks delivering quantitative benefits for all operators, be they mobile, fixed broadband or enterprise focused. Our analysis is that Sedona brings Cisco capabilities that will drive significant CAPEX, OPEX, as well as, significant revenue opportunities for CSPs.
In 2019, Sedona announced its selection by Vodafone as the preferred supplier, Group-wide, for a high-level, hierarchical controller for multi-layer, multivendor management of optical, packet and microwave networks. Verizon was an earlier top-tier win for the company.
Sedona is backed by blue-chip VCs including Intel Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners.
