Ciena has announced the acquisition of Centina which will sit in its Blue Planet portfolio.
Ciena emphasize that their strategic goal for Blue Planet is to support advanced, ultimately hands-off automation and closed-loop automation. With this acquisition, Appledore believe that Ciena has taken a major step in enhancing and completing its Blue Planet portfolio. In particular, it gives Ciena a mature assurance and analytics platform to complement its orchestration and inventory products. With the acquisition of Centina, Ciena has all of the key components to enable closed loop automation, covering every part of Appledore’s closed loop automation taxonomy.
