A chain is only as strong as its weakest link
. . . and hackers know this. No matter how strong your front-door security, if the back door’s open, trouble will enter. Nuage Networks (SD-WAN) and Asavie Networks (automated role-based security for SIM-connected mobile devices and things) have teamed up to extend SD-WAN almost transparently to authorized mobile devices. We believe that anything that widens the security net, and automates security, eliminating “holes” – is a significant step forward. By performing pre-integration, Nuage and Asavie reduce the cost and risk of the solution, and likely improve the usability/elegance of operation.
Nuage promoting cross-domain security automation
We have covered Nuage’s efforts to promote cross-domain security automation, a capability that they believe is relatively unique to their solution, since it can manage not only SD-WAN, but LANs/datacenters as well. We believe it is useful to view this as “one more domain” under consistent policy management, and therefore one less set of opportunities to leave a security hole open.
