SK Telecom is one of the world’s largest operators, and one of its most progressive and innovative. In August 2023, it announced an additional $100m investment in San Francisco-based Anthropic, a GenAI startup also backed by Alphabet/Google. Together with other recent announcements on AI with telco peers, what does this signify about telecom’s relationship and ambition for AI in general – and GenAI in particular?
