We present this paper as a resource to our readers.  On of the big operational transformations of NFV and the “telco cloud” is the transition of core capabilities – HA, scale, etc. FROM the network elements and TO the underlying NFV-I and orchestration platforms. In effect the platform will proactively heal, scale and distribute micro-services based NFV components so as to achieve the qualities necessary in a robust network.

– In this paper, Eric Troup, telecom domain CTO in Microsoft, argues that platforms can do the same for security – and in the process greatly improve it.  His argument at its core is simple – a single large platform can expend more resources, be updated more frequently, and keep pace with more threats, than any single programming team for a single product.

– Since security is outside our core scope, but highly complementary – we offer this as a free download to our readers and subscribers.
