Blue Planet has successfully managed to retain a distinct identity as a pure-play OSS vendor, within the wider (and booming) Ciena business. Its own particular vision for autonomous networks and the potential of Agentic AI was the focus of a dedicated briefing at DTW26. This Research Note summarizes that vision, and offers Appledore’s take on it, and on the business unit’s latest product announcements. While the headline news was the launch of its Configuration and Change Management module, the briefing covered a wider portfolio and architectural shift that we judged worthy of a dedicated note.
