NETSCOUT Engage User Event 2026
“NETSCOUT has about a one-year advantage before the market window closes, and the AI market is moving at warp speed.” – Patrick Kelly
This Appledore Research Note examines NETSCOUT’s push into the market for context-aware data that AI agents need before they act on a live network. It draws on our attendance at the NETSCOUT Engage user event in Addison, Texas, and on conversations with executives and customers there, and sets NETSCOUT against the established observability platforms of Splunk, Dynatrace and Datadog.
We assess what NETSCOUT claims as its moat – observed, packet-derived evidence rather than inferred telemetry – and argue that context, not data volume, is now the binding constraint on agentic operations. We also give our own, independent view of where that moat is thin, from a mixed rival-and-partner message to the state of carrier proof, and what NETSCOUT must change to turn a technical lead into market position.
Written for CSP operations and AI strategy teams, observability buyers and investors, the note closes with practical steps for testing NETSCOUT before committing budget.
